Our Story

I,  Maria, am a Communications Director / Graphic Designer (and an event planner at heart.) My first job out of college was working for an advertising agency as Assistant Manager for got milk?, Netflix, Banana Republic, Foster Farms, and others. I’ve traveled the world branding and re-organizing various companies, small and large. In the end, I landed right where I belong, as the Communications & Events Director / co-owner (with my husband, Kris) of 'Beyond Wealth Management’, the financial advisory business we began 16 years ago. www.LifeBeyondWealth.com

Kris, & I genuinely aim to go Beyond in our work, our lives, for our clients...  We have been together since highschool, have 4 amazing kids, love to travel, are avid University of Oregon football fans (GO DUCKS!), and dreamt of building our own home for 25 years. As our family grew and we experienced more life, it became so clear how short life really is, and our dream became even stronger. We wished for spaces to make our life more organized & manageable. We wished to be the home where everyone feels AT home and all  are welcome. We built spaces for our kids, their friends, our family & friends, our nephews... We hope to be the home our kids feel they can come back to. And, just maybe, if we are so blessed, the property our grandkids can love and grow on and explore as well. 

To be honest, it always seemed so out of reach. Especially after going through some really hard times in the 2007 market crash (it's hard to even think back to them). There was so much to think about. Finding land, abiding by land use laws, securing permits, easements, wells, septic... a million things we had zero experience with. Time and time again we would begin the dream, and back off.  However, our Beyond Wealth Management tagline is ‘Dream Bigger’. We aim to help clients discover what this means for them, and one day I realized... we spend our lives helping others dream big and reach those dreams, why can’t we do the same. Why not us? After all, everything is figureoutable!

It took more blood, sweat, tears, hard work & grit than we ever imagined. Truly, there’s not enough space to bore you with our stories.

But, we finally did it! And, as it turns out, being able to share it with others is the best part so far.
